We celebrated July 4th this year by attending our neighborhood parade for the first time and then having our 4th annual party at our house that evening. The parade was great fun, and we wondered why we'd never gone before. It's amazing how having children makes us try new things! Alyce-Ann caught a stuffed bear thrown from one of the floats and loved waving (and chewing on) her
little American flag. That night at our party, in front of family and friends, Alyce-Ann took
her first steps!!! Yay! Everyone cheered so loudly that she didn't dare do it again that evening. How wonderful to see her gaining independence on such an appropriate day!
