Argentina Part 2

The transportation system within Argentina is great! There are overnight limosine buses with seats that convert into completely flat beds, full meals on board, and movies. We took several of them to travel from B.A. up north to Cordoba, where Jaquie's land is, and then again further north to the province of Salta and Jujuy. At the campo, Alyce-Ann absolutely loved being around Jaquie's 5 dogs and had learned all of their names by the time we left. This adorable little beagle is named Peachy. No doubt, the dogs also enjoyed Alyce-Ann and her toddler eating habits that leave half of her meal on the floor!

Jaquie's land is pretty remote-- 50 minutes to the nearest town, 15 minutes to the closest neighbor, and she just got electricity to the property a couple of months ago. Keep in mind we were in the southern hemisphere, so it was winter down there. Once we got over wearing coats, scarves, and hats in JULY, we quickly got to chopping wood-- a daily chore that was necessary to fill our pot belly stoves in our bedrooms for warmth and the space below our hot water heaters for warm showers. At night, the temps dropped to below freezing!

This river was a 20 minute hike from the campo and was still on Jaquie's land. Absolutely stunning!

Another overnight bus ride took us to Salta, a quaint town filled with colonial architecture and Alyce-Ann's favorite, cobble-stone courtyards and streets. She loved feeling the warmth of the stones, and thankfully, she chose to lay down in a courtyard!

Here we all are on a mountaintop overlooking the city of Salta. A scenic cable car ride was a great way to get up there!
